Avondale Yarnbomb planned

The Logan Square Yarnbomb was, no doubt, a large success. Pictures have been floating all over the internet of the yarnbombers in action, and of their work after the installation was complete.
I’ve recently received word from some folks in Avondale who plan on yarnbombing the bridge on Addison Street, near the new mural at Addison and Avondale - as an extension of the mural. The mural was a huge success for the folks in Avondale, and because there were so many volunteers involved, not everybody was able to partake in the community art project. Enter the Avondale Yarnbomb.
RSVP with the date you can attend by emailing Lindsay Obermeyer (lindsay@lbostudio.com). The yarn colors will match the mural and will be provided for you. Suggested donation of $10-$20 welcome to cover costs.
Here’s the message and info:
We will be knitting stripes of color to cover the handrail along the southern side of the Addison Bridge adding a whimsical dash to the grey expanse. Knit and crocheted by the community in colors taken from the mural, this temporary installation, reminiscent of one giant Dr. Who scarf covering the handrail, is designed to bring all ages of the community together, both in the act of making the installation and in the enjoyment of it.
Participants will receive a yarn packet with basic stitch patterns to be used, gauge requirements, and basic striping requests included, otherwise the participants’ creativity will determine the ultimate outcome of the striping sequences. A limited number of these packets will include knitting needles or crochet hooks and tapestry needles for sewing in ends.
