If you’ve been to Cafe Mustache lately, well this is likely old news for you. However, Ralph from Cafe Mustache would just like to give a heads up to those who haven’t heard yet - they now have a liquor license.

Just wanted to let you know that the rumors are true we now have an incidental liqour license to go along with our food and coffee. We are serving only Chicago made craft beer and spirits. We’ve got a nice cocktail menu with some very creative cocktails that utilize tea, espresso and coffee (as well as a malort cocktail, hehehe called the Surprisingly Good). Not to mention a killer bloody mary we call the Bloody Carrie that gets you through those rough weekend mornings. To go along with the new beverages we expanded our menu to include some nice shareable dishes. Like a fancy cheese plate, hummus plate and chili mac! Oh and we now serve bobtail ice cream. Ever have an affogato? ( espresso over ice cream. yummy!)

We are doing way more shows and events now also. Pretty much every week we’ll be having at least 2 or 3 shows and 1 other event at night. Got some great shows booked for September and beyond already (no cover charge, shows always start at 9pm unless other wise listed) Some great Logan Square musicians and some great out of towners also. I’ll be posting the calendar quite soon. Some events so far include Wednesday Night Wax a weekly vinyl record enthusiast meeting night. If you bring in a record we’ll play a side of it and you get a discounted drink! 9pm - 12am. Also every third tuesday of the month we’ll be doing a rock and roll trivia night at 8pm, test your music knowledge and win free drinks. Our first one was last night and it was a blast. We also sell local bands vinyl, tapes and cds at no profit to us, just cause we love the Chicago music scene!

The new menu has also brought on some physical changes to the space. We’ve got a new bar counter-top seating area. New furniture arrangement, Hanging lamps (No more florescence!) new art and plants, oh and candles at night.  And as always we play vinyl records all day every day. Basically we hope to have the same great coffee shop atmosphere for everyone to work, study and hang out in during the day and then a more adult, lounge vibe at night. Where you can grab some locally made drinks, listen to great music, experience a community event or just talk with friends and neighbors in a less intimidating setting than a bar.

P.S. our new hours are: m-f 6 am to midnight, sat 8am to midnight, sun 9 am to midnight.

And as per usual, the coffee house will continue to feature live music and events. Here’s the calendar for this month.
